Freebird Arts and Crafts is a unique art shop in Seisia.

Run by a lovely local lady Simone (originally from Brazil).

She collects rocks, seeds, shells and driftwood from the local beaches,

... and turns them into some very clever local art.

The shop has the walls covered in jewellery,

... canvas paintings and all sorts of other things,

... some are from Torres Strait, Papua New Guinea and even Fiji,

albany island beach

... but there is also a whole lot from the tip of Cape York.

There are paintings on shells and bark,

... jewellery boxes,

... beautiful wooden carvings with local lizards,

... and some amazing rock paintings of famous places and waterfalls.

But some of the cleverest are the frogs made out of Bushman's Clothes Pegs seeds,

... and the bush turkeys made out of pine cones.

And she makes beautiful coffee on top of all, served with yummy cakes and cookies :-)
