Fishing in Cape York 1993

by Toni
(Cologne,Germany)

Hello,

we caught this Shovelnose Ray with a 30cm handreel in 1993.

The fish pulled our boat with four people queerly along the jetty several times.

It took us almost 45 minutes after the bite to pull him ashore at the jetty with a rope.

After some photos we pushed him back into the water.

Then we were told that a fishing contest would be announced the next day.

Anyway, some cold beers and everything was ok.

I will never forget the day.

Toni from Cologne / Germany
