Sorry that i had not yet managed to make a note on the web page of the palm cockatoo, that there is now a whole chapter in the Destination Guide about where to spot all the rare local wildlife including palm cockatoo, but also the green tree python, cuscus, amethystine python, tree kangaroo, cassowary, crocodile, and more.
It is not a chapter copied from other web sources, not even other books - like everything else in the Destination Guide it is first hand information by a local of Cape York - where we live with palm cockatoos and have our own hot spots.
So, yes - there are some other places than Iron Range alone, and you could look at them all and also look at all the detailed information (with prices or at least links) about how to get here and how to get to all of these different spots.
With plenty of other local tips that will only give you more great ideas :-)
