Cape York - First timers

by Judee
(Bundoora, Victoria, Australia)

Good afternoon,

Lawrence and I are thinking about travelling by 2009 diesel 4x4 Hi-Lux towing an off road Cub camper. We are in our mid 60s.

We haven't down a great deal of 4x4 driving, just following our son around the hills of Jamieson, Victoria.

Can you tell us when the best time is to travel to Cape York and would appreciate any tips.

Kind regards Judee

Hi Judee,
by: Katrin

The best time can be different for different people depending on whether the most important thing for them is the most comfortable weather or avoiding the crowds, and also what places you want to visit as some aren't open early in the season.

It's all discussed, month by month, in the "When to Go" chapter in the FREE Pocket Guide, available on

this page.

There is also other info to get your planning a good start :-)
