bypass road/grading

bypass road/grading

by Steve Mac

Hi Katrin,

we are thinking about going up to the Cape in October. Will the bypass road be horrendous with corrugations after the busy season or do they get graded more than once, early in the season?

thanks

Hi Steve,

The grading is not scheduled, it works in the way that the road guys go up there checking and if it's bad enough it gets graded also during the busy season.

That means at the time you travel through it could be anything from horrendous to good and most likely will be quite bad.

We often travel in October and the corrugations haven't made us to change that.

End of the season is very good in many other ways - all the back tracks are open and most people are gone, if you can stand the heat.
