Bramwell to Stones Crossing Track

Bramwell to Stones Crossing Track is a great shortcut to Weipa.

They had been takling about opening if for years,

... and in 2021 it finally happened!

The track's northern end is south of Bramwell Junction,

... and first there is a section with lots of logs across the track (which we tried to remove).

Then there is a section with lots of holes in the track, and litttle creek crossings.

Then there is a rocky section,

... and after that the open woodland turns into taller forest.

There are some rivers to cross but they are dry in the dry season.

An occasional bit of jungle,

... and open areas and melaleuca swamps.

And there are many, many places where the track is narrow between the trees.

There are trespass signs that you have to obey to not to get in trouble with police.

The track goes through Steve Irwin's Wildlife Sanctuary and you are supposed to stay on the track.

When you finally get to the Stone's Crossing, it is a wet one all year, and can be deep, so take care!
