Hi Everyone,
So the first rains
have arrived, the roads are soggy, and the
National Parks have closed for the season.
Below are also the new tracks of this year, plus the
Free Pocket Guide has been updated :-)

THE
RAINS HAVE ARRIVED
So, it is this time of the year again! The first rains
have arrived,
in the NPA, Weipa, and other parts of the peninsula. So far, the main
roads are open, although Burke Developmental Road is already closed.

National Parks have just
closed, as did local tourism businesses,
including Loyalty Beach and Punsand Bay. All waiting for the Wet Season
to end before opening again next year :-)
TRACKS
THIS YEAR
So, this year was another big year for tracks, and while of course Cape York got updated,
this time the new
thing was Gulf Savannah.

For years people have been asking me to include it in my Guides, and so
I did the research :-)

It was a great trip, revisiting Karumba
to Burketown,

... then from Burketown
to Hell's Gate,

... from Hell's gate to
Borroloola,

... then Cape Crawford,
Limmen and Roper Bar, to
Mataranka and Katherine,

...
and back covering as many backroads as possible, taking in as much
information as possible, for
the new Gulf Savannah Guide :-)

It
is a time consuming work so at this stage I cannot promise
when it
will be out. I will let you know here in the
newsletters.
Meanwhile, the Destination
Cape York 2023 will be out in the early January as always,
and the sub-guides will be updated as they have been every
year :-)
FREE
POCKET GUIDE UPDATED
Like this time every year, the Free Pocket Guide has been
updated :-)
If you don't have one yet, now is a good time to get the
2023 version,
and you can do it by subscribing to the newsletters on this
page.

If you already have one, I am sorry I cannot replace it with the
latest
version like I do with the paid Guides, but you
can always subscribe again with a different email
address (it could also
be another member of your family), and grab the latest Free
Guide :-)
DESTINATION GUIDE
CHRISTMAS GIFT CARDS
And last but not least - because I have had many people asking over
the years - since a few years ago I have made
it easy to
buy the Destination Guide as a Christmas present.
The process is explained on the present page
of the Destination
Guide, please read and follow
the steps there :-)

All purchases include the updated Guide and so do
the Christmas
presents - if you buy before
the 2023 Guide is out - presents
included - you get both the 2022 and the
2023 version for the price of one.
On top of that, even the 2024 edition is included as all purchases
come with two years worth of updates :-)

FEEDBACK ALWAYS WELCOME
I really appreciate any kind of feedback on the Destination Guide.
Please let me know if you enjoyed it while planning before the trip, and while using the information once on the trip.
If you get any questions about anything, please feel welcome to contact me.
That's all for this time - happy planning, and happy travels to those on the road!!
Have a great day :-)
Katrin.
P.S. If you cannot see the photo banner in the top of this page, instead of photos you only see photo texts, and instead of links you see url addresses throughout the text, you are using email software that only reads text. Consider getting an email account with Yahoo or others that can read HTML (and remember to change your email address, which can be done in the end of every newsletter.
