WET
SEASON SO FAR
The wet season so far
has been normal, not wetter or drier than in the recent years.

There have been plenty of rainy days and rivers up, cutting off the
PDR in places.

Wenlock crossing at Moreton has been up and even metres above the
bridge - thanks for all
these photos Ian Lock at Moreton Telegraph
Station!

There's debris and fallen trees,

Creeks up,

... and plenty of greenery :-)

We still have March and April to go, so I will keep you updated :-)
CARAVAN GUIDE UPDATED
And - the Caravan Guide
2022 is out, with everything that has changed since last
year, updated:
* FREE camping spots
on your way here from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Northern
Territory that suit a
caravan
* Should you bring your caravan?
* The reasons why you should seriously consider not bringing your
caravan (so you can really make a well informed decision!)
* How much of the road
is actually sealed and what is the prediction by a local?
* The unsealed parts and
their condition
* Where to leave your van at the bottom of the Cape – there are FREE storage places,
there are also the locked / undercover spaces, and the ones in a shed
* Bring your caravan:
* How to avoid the damage
* How towing capacity
changes when you are off road
* How to still get to do the adventure: places where to leave your van
up the Cape and go off to do the tracks
* What mechanical
workshops do fix caravans up the Cape
* What roads and tracks
are you going to get through with your caravan
* Ferries that you have to take
* RV events to enjoy
* FREE camping
spots on the Cape that are large enough for caravans
* Dump points
– where are the public ones, and also which camping grounds have them
(not nearly all up the Cape!)
* What commercial camping
grounds / caravan parks accommodate vans – and what length
can they fit – for each park
* What places actually have powered
sites – the majority do not up the Cape!
This Guide already covers all the subjects so well that nothing big was
added, but the road
sealing discussion was rewritten and added new and more exact
information.

If you already
have the Caravan Guide - bought within the last two years
- please give me an email and I will send you the latest version :-)
If you don't
- the Caravan Guide (just like the Doggie and the Trailer Guide) is a
supplementary guide to the main Destination Guide and found inside it,
as explained on this
page.

FEEDBACK ALWAYS WELCOME
I really appreciate any kind of feedback on the Destination Guide.
Please let me know if you enjoyed it while planning before the trip, and while using the information once on the trip.
If you get any questions about anything, please feel welcome to
contact me.
That's all for this time - happy planning, and happy travels to those on the road!!
Have a great day :-)
Katrin.
