Hi Everyone,
As we all know it has been a horrible year and a really bad tourist season, but in the end of it they have actually started to arrive.
Below is also a recent Bamaga - Weipa road report.

2020 TOURIST SEASON
It's been a shocking year for the local tourism businesses, with the usual high season months June - August virtually dead.
Sorry that the wrong-doers have made this needing a mention: These newsletters are covered by the Law of Copyright - the only way to legally spread them is a link to this page or a proper Facebook share. Posting screen shots, downloading photos or copying & pasting text is illegal.
But towards the end - September, October, there have actually been campers, and I hear from Cooktown that they have a lot more tourists than us up here at the Tip.

BAMAGA - WEIPA ROAD REPORT
Mark my partner has recently been to Weipa, and came back with some photos of the road.

Bypass Roads (above): Northern Bypass was good and even the Southern Bypass has been craded since a couple of months ago when it was really bad. There starts to be some corrugation again but it's heaps better than it was.

Telegraph Road (above) - some parts are good and some parts are badly corrugated. As always you need to watch the dips in the northern end, some of them are very rough.

Batavia Road (above) was good, and the Weipa end (below) was ok, there was some corrugation but not really bad.

DESTINATION GUIDE UPDATES ALL HAPPENING
Even though, with all of its uncertainty, 2020 has been such a bad year to even try to plan some big travels, there will be a lot of first hand updates in the Destination Guide 2021.
I have done my best, despite all the negativity that this year has brought, to still get out there and revisit the places that needed updating, and even done some new bits.
It will be a busy time putting everything into the 2021 Destination Cape York which will be out in the early January 2021.
But even if you buy now, the 2021 and 2022 Editions will be included in the price and sent to you as soon
as they are out :-)

FEEDBACK ALWAYS WELCOME
I really appreciate any kind of feedback on the Destination Guide.
Please let me know if you enjoyed it while planning before the trip, and while using the information once on the trip.
If you get any questions about anything, please feel welcome to contact me.
That's all for this time - happy planning, and happy travels to those on the road!!
Have a great day :-)
Katrin.
