TOURIST
SEASON FULL ON
The tourist season is
well and truly here, with camp
grounds packed and all the creek crossings that
we usually have for ourselves - full of people.

With the starting school
holidays it will only get busier
very shortly, so be
aware that you need to make bookings and there might be delays at creek
and
ferry crossings.
NATIONAL
PARKS OPEN EARLY
Despite our
heavy wet season in the northern Cape, some national parks and
tracks in the southern parts of the peninsula are opening early this year.
Sorry
that some wrong-doers have made this needing a mention: These
newsletters are subject to the Law of Copyright - the only
way to
legally spread them is a link to this page or a proper Facebook share
(cropping text and photos out of it to use them to build one's own
Facebook post is ILLEGAL).
Just like the CREB Track did, the northern
Lakefield and Cape Melville are also open for the season
(for the northern Lakefield it is normal timing, but not for Cape
Melville).

The wet season can be different in the different parts of the Cape -
plus it helps the early
openings when it's a year (like this one) when there has been
no cyclones (which are usually more destructive, and
consequently create more clean-up work, in the
southern and eastern parts).
GREAT EVENTS COMING
With the height of the
tourist season - also come some of the best events, so if
you are in the northernmost end of Cape York next week, be aware that
the NPA
Cultural Festival is on in Bamaga :-)

The
Laura Rodeo and Races this weekend is one of the most popular rodeo
events on the peninsula, and so is the Bramwell Music Muster which is
on next weekend (all the
events are listed with exact dates, locations, contact details and
possible admission prices in the Destination Guide - and
updated every year).

FEEDBACK
ALWAYS WELCOME
I really appreciate any kind of feedback
on the Destination Guide.
Please let
me know if you enjoyed it while planning before the trip, and
while using the
information once on the
trip.
If you get any questions
about
anything, please feel welcome to contact me.
That's all for this time - happy planning, and happy travels to
those on the road!!
Have a great day :-)
Katrin.
